The Joy of Children Helping Others

One thing that might warm your heart more than anything would be to see children helping others. Though children are often kind, and innocent, they are often very egocentric. This is just the way they are, and there is nothing wrong with it. Most begin to grow out of it near age five, but it can be a very slow process. Perhaps this is why seeing them reaching out and helping others can really touch the heart, and also gives Moms & Dads excellent hope for their future.

Children helping others needn’t do anything special, as long as they are trying to help out. My son likes to go to the animal rescue shelter to take goodies to other animals, and this is something he thinks of by himself. It might be in part come from his own wish to see the animals, but I think there is something in there that shows he is concerned. He wants those poor animals to have some of the same good things that our pets at home have. Children helping animals is probably one of the most common good deeds that children do.
