Music Throughout Human History

by Elijah Fynn

Music has been a part of human civilization for ages. Throughout ages music has been played in different forms by different civilizations and different nations as a symbol.

Music has been used for parties and for religious ceremonies. It is considered to be a leisure activity, which relaxes a person and makes them feel better.

So many people are in love with music. They listen to it, in order to release the stress they have or perhaps to dance. There are also countless forms of music.

There is orchestral, metal, jazz, rap, classical, ambient, hip hop, folk, country, and many other forms. For better or worse, rap is one of the growing forms of music in the United States.

1. East coast lovers enjoyed music by Big Daddy and other famous rap singers. From their efforts, we have seen an enormous growth in rap music.

2. West Coast: in the mid 1980s west coast got its popularity against East Coast rap. Some of there notable singers were Too Short and Ice Tea.

3. Ghetto Mafia was partly responsible for influencing rap in the south. This came after both the west and east coasts had their success.

4. “Gangsta Rap”: Some think that N.W.A brought this to the music scene. Yet others believe Ice Tea was responsible.

Other forms of rap emerged in the 1980s and have been here since. They include pop, electro, and jazz.

People may disagree on music genres in whole. This is why it is difficult to classify every single piece of music, be it rap, country, and the countless others.

Almost in every religion music has played an important role. People use music to pray to their Gods, sing there prayers in music and even perform them as a ritual. Over time there has been an improvement in these rituals and music that they perform.

You can pick up any religion and look at the importance of music in it. No matter its Christianity, Islam, or Hinduism music has always played an important role. You can go to church or temples and you can see people using music as a medium to offer there prayers.
